Overview
As students transition into their junior and senior high years, their cognitive abilities, critical thinking skills, and worldview rapidly expand. To meet their advanced learning needs, we proudly offer the G7-12 Advanced Chinese Course. This course is designed to seamlessly build upon an elementary Chinese foundation, transforming students from everyday language users into proficient bilingual leaders capable of deep analysis, literary appreciation, academic inquiry, and creative expression in Chinese.

Course Description
Authoritative Curriculum: “Zhongwen” Junior High Version
This program exclusively uses the “Zhongwen” (《中文》) Junior High Version (Volumes 1-6), designed by Jinan University for adolescent heritage learners worldwide. Compared to the elementary series, this curriculum features a comprehensive upgrade in content depth and breadth, with a core focus on:
Enhanced Literary Focus: Introducing classic essays and fictional excerpts from renowned modern and contemporary Chinese authors (such as Lu Xun, Zhu Ziqing, and others).
Cultivation of Critical Thinking: Featuring texts with greater depth on topics spanning society, history, and philosophy, designed to stimulate independent and critical thought.
Introduction to Classical Chinese: Systematically incorporating units on Classical Chinese (文言文) to build a solid foundation in traditional Chinese studies.
Advanced Writing Standards: Providing systematic instruction on the methodologies for writing argumentative, expository, and complex narrative essays.
Program Structure & Pacing
This six-year program is synchronized with the Canadian secondary school system, from Grade 7 to Grade 12. We adopt a pace of completing one textbook volume per academic year, ensuring students have ample time to digest, comprehend, and apply the knowledge from each stage as they progress steadily toward their final goal.
